Bistro Guillaume rekindles at Crown

Monsieur Guillaume,
Blink and we may have missed you for that small stint you were astray

but you again reside down south, hence we declare merci beaucoup this very day.

You’ve tempted us with your tastes, a-la fine French bistro fare once before,
So it’s only with utmost respect and anticipation we welcome you (and your signature ‘ladies petticoat lamps’) back – amore amore.

While the charmingly burly French foodie Guillaume Brahimi continues to showcase his well-earned stripes serving contemporary Australian cuisine with a French twist at his haute Guillaume at Bennelong restaurant, he’s recently resumed prime position along Crown’s dining promenade amongst stable mates of note, with the eponymous yet more casual Bistro Guillaume.

Not dissimilar to those that line Parisian streets, this spacious light-filled bistro features a large outdoor terrace (for 50) and rich warm French Oak. Sip champagne at the classic zinc-topped bar, dine at bare tables (lacking linen), and enjoy a tight list of local and French wines. Or just sashay by for freshly made salted-caramel macaroons or single profiteroles.

For dinner embark on beef bourguignon or bouillabaisse and crème brûlée. Or for lunch savour café classics like quiche, Croque Madame, tartine du jour or bistro favourite steak tartare with pomme gaufrettes, but oh, don’t forgo a bowl of French onion soup.

With service around the clock, it’s French with a little less fuss – c’est magnifique.
