Melbourne Vintage Market
We are having quite the retro love affair at the moment. First it was Mad Men influencing the return of the womanly curves and red lipstick, liquid eyeliner and 50’s style dresses. Now, there’s a new drama “Boardwalk Empire” said to bring the Vintage Jazz era back with flapper dresses, sequins and swing music.
So if you’re trying to source some authentic vintage clothing and accessories, you’ll be keen to visit the Vanity Fair Melbourne markets.
Held on the first Saturday of the month at the German Club Tivoli in Windsor, you’ll get to take a walk down memory lane with more than 25 vintage dealers.
This is serious vintage; expect to find 200 year old Victorian style gowns, beaded 20’s dresses, leather mini’s from the 70’s and a great selection of leather bags, Bakelite jewellery, silk scarves, packaged stockings and buttons, bobbins and lace.
And if you think you have what it takes to be a dealer and host your own market, its pretty affordable at $69 for a stall including a table, just contact Becky Sharp (the vintage style guru behind the concept).
