Nestled in the heart of Sydney’s Haymarket, Gyuniku is the perfect destination for Japanese barbecue enthusiasts. This all-you-can-eat haven masterfully combines premium Wagyu beef, an extensive sushi selection, and frozen yoghurt station, offering a fun, interactive dining experience perfect for groups of friends.
Upon entering Gyuniku, you’re greeted by a harmonious blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics and contemporary design. The restaurant boasts 30 BBQ stations and accommodates up to 110 guests, making it ideal for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings.
So the all-you-can-eat promise is true. Indulge in unlimited servings of top-tier Wagyu beef, including the highly sought-after Full Blood Wagyu MB9. The selection also features Wagyu MB7–9 cuts, short ribs, marinated chicken, and fresh seafood, catering to all your carnivorous needs. Considering some venues ask you to pay per 100g of steak this feels like you’re making money.
The self-service sushi bar is a highlight, continuously replenished with an array of sushi, sashimi, and nigiri, all crafted with precision and freshness. Complementing these are a variety of hot and fried dishes, cold accompaniments like wakame salad, and an assortment of sauces. All self serve, no shame in repeat visitation.
Sitting next to us were a table of four mates, imbibing multiple beers and taking turns to BBQ the Wagyu on the hot coals in the middle of the table. They had a system, one would go and retrieve mountains of freshly cut salmon, tuna and kingfish sashimi, while another carefully selected slices of wagyu rump, rump cap or sirloin as the other cooked. Smart use the booking time of 90 minutes allocated to each table.
If you’re full, already – take a deep breath and engage your dessert stomach. Craft your own sweet dessert creations, choosing from a variety of toppings such as sprinkles, tapioca pearls, and M&M’s for your vanilla or strawberry yogurt.
Gyuniku offers superior and premium options across lunch and dinner with prices starting at $48.90 per person with weekend premium $87.90 per person
Gyuniku (beef in Japanese – is there any word that doesn’t sound better in Japanese?) has redefined the all-you-can-eat concept in Sydney by seamlessly blending premium quality ingredients with vibrant and fun dining experience. Enjoy, and wear elastic pants.
