Green Cup Armadale had a facelift and is back – with a new salad range that’s like eating a rainbow

Can it be true, are we over the depths of the deep dark Winter? Sitting outside at Green Cup, green smoothie in hand, sunnies on, sun glaring on my back, and cute customers in short shorts, dare I say, I think we are.

Green Cup in Armadale has been closed for six weeks for renovations. And after little hiatus, and in theme with the glamourous suburb, a bit of a ‘lift, shift and tuck’, they have just reopened in time for Spring. Their new look the inside has a clean green, inviting, and wholesome feel. Simple yet elegant white walls and a classy fresh interior. Staff are dressed in there GC uniforms, , boasting ‘honest ingredients but now, thick hoodies are gone, and T-shirts back.

Naturally, their much-loved Green smoothies continue to feature on the menu. There are so many combinations to choose from, but if you don’t want to overthink it, do what I did and just go Number 1. That’s ’The Green Cup 1” -a healthy mix of spinach, kale, a hint of sweetness from bananas and strawberries, and some unusual ingredients that you likely won’t have in your kitchen like mesquite powder, and healthy nourishing spirulina. In just a sip, you get your ‘Five a day’ fruit and veggie intake, and this delicious drink is a package full of goodness for your insides.

But the exciting Green Cup news continues. Adding to repertoire of smoothies, acai bows and wholesome porridge, they have started a whole new range.

On a glorious Winter sunny day, there’s a queue of hungry people, waiting in line, to appease their grumbling bellies. Standing there, feels like staring directly into a joyful vibrant rainbow, as all of the fresh vegetables, like curls of cooling cucumber, pops of green juicy edamame pearls, a sun glow of orange carrots, and creamy avocado radiates in front of our eyes. The perfect pink salmon, deep purple raw tuna, fresh poached chicken, and neatly chopped cubes of tofu mean these salads ain’t going to be just a few boring lettuce leaves, but protein packed to keep us satisfied all day,

When I finally get to the front of the queue, pressure is on, as I notice the hangry  – polite yet impatient people waiting behind me. So, while one could DIY their own combination, if you’re lazy or indecisive like me, just go for one of their carefully thought out and clever options. Much like the smoothie range, they already have all of the fabulous mixtures down pat like the “Tuna’ with sushi rice, fragrant coriander, a sesame soy dressing and crispy shallots at the top. I’m always happy to hear my name being called out for food, but when it’s to collect my nourishing rainbow, it creates a whole new level of excitement’. I not only have an epic lunch, but I am fuelling my body and soul right in time for Spring.

As I sit and devour my bowl of healthy heaven, I can’t help but reflect with positivity of such a wonderful day. The sun is shining, our winter is ending and the revitalised Green Cup has re-opened at the most magical time.
