Golden Age Cinema and Bar

goldenheroHave you ever wanted to travel back in time to the glory days of cinema? When ladies wore gloves, couples went to supper and men drank whiskey neat?

During those smoky halcyon days, movie theatres were so much more than an entertainment venue. They were a passport to the world; news from the front, access to distant lands, the unimaginable glamour of Astaire and Rogers, Bogey and Bacall.

The social experimentalists at Right Angle Studio want to make that dream a reality. They have taken on the daunting task of turning the heritage-listed Paramount Pictures building in Surry Hills into the Golden Age Cinema, a working 60-seat theatre and bar with regular screenings, special events and a bar menu that references the past without copying it.

Scheduled to open on 6th September, the Golden Age Cinema is a work of great distinction that will revive tradition and create history. Bringing back the exclusivity and class of the cinema-going experience, this is one ‘coming soon’ that is worth the hype.

Our Golden Age
Opening on 6 September 2013
The former Paramount Pictures Building, 80 Commonwealth Street, Surry Hills 2010
