Spring is here and summer is not too far away. This often means our taste buds are looking for something fresher. Enter juice. While we can all pretend we have the time and equipment to whip up amazing juices as we fly out the door, most of us don’t. We’ve rounded up some of the best juices around Melbourne so you can get your fix of fruit and vegetables, on the run.
Pressed Juices
Cold pressed juices are served up in beautiful surroundings at Pressed Juices. In very pretty bottles as well. A hydraulic press juicer makes their juices and it’s as close to raw as you can get. For those who like their vegetables and fruits together the Greens 2 is a winner: apple, celery, cucumber, kale, lemon, lettuce, parsley and spinach.
Stores in Armadale, South Yarra, Brighton, Hawthorn and soon to be CBD. www.pressedjuices.com.au
The Vegie Bar
Now this is clearly not a juice bar, or a shop front where you can order and dash, but the juice and smoothie offering at The Vegie Bar is worth writing home about. The all-vegetarian restaurant on Brunswick Street in Fitzroy offers, vegan, gluten free, dairy free and raw options and is serious about health. When it comes to juice there is anything you could want from the Super juice – spinach, beetroot, carrot and cucumber to the raw shake – almond milk, cacao and agave. Get your health on.
Market Juice
Market Juice at the Queen Victoria Market has been supplying cafes and restaurants around Melbourne with fresh seasonal juices since 2001. Made daily the juices are delivered to their door. You can find them working their magic at the Queen Vic market. If you can get your hands on the blood orange, you should.
Aunt Maggie’s
This place is all about the wholesome nourishment of food. The feeling that goes beyond filling your stomach. That is Wayne’s aim anyway, a place to celebrate food like his Aunt would have done. Along with purchasing your organic meats, fresh breads, gourmet sauces and oils you can grab freshly made juices and smoothies from their Juice Bar. Pick your base, pick your fruits then add supplements like acai and wheatgrass.

Spring Street Grocery
This little bad boy on Spring Street in the city is a jack-of-all-trades. With a grocery for your shopping needs, a cheese room for those cheese cravings, fresh rolls for lunchtime and gelato for the warmer months, it can feel a little overwhelming. But what we love are their damn good cold pressed juices. The seriously green juice is crazy popular. Drink your greens folks.
