Not since Stella McCartney designed a range of sophisticated chic must-haves has Target collaborated with a designer label as coveted as their soon-to-be launched range with Missoni.
Sure there was Robert Cavalli but if you’re not a fan of leopard print, there wasn’t really anything that would have made its way into your wardrobe. And their current petite range with Dannii Minogue is fabulous, unless you’re over 160cm tall like most of us.
Target in the US has collaborated with Missoni previously, and their stuff sold like hot cakes but this collection is different. Firstly, it’s a little known fact that Target in the US and Target here in Australia are not actually owned by the same company. They’re two separate businesses who many years ago put in place a gentleman’s agreement that allowed an Australian family business to take on their name and vision and make it happen here in Oz.
Secondly, the team at Target and the ever so stylish Angela Missoni and her peeps worked really close on this. So we’re guaranteed a collection that she is proud to put her iconic name to. Rumour has it they are so much more excited about this collaborative collection than their past partnerships. You may even see some similarities between Target’s upcoming collection and the collection Missoni are sending down the runway at Milan Fashion Week at the end of the month.
And thirdly, this collection is bigger and dare we say, better. You’ll see.
We got a sneak peek at the entire range this week and there is so much we want we’ll need a new house just to fit it all. There’s everything from fashion and accessories, to notepads, iPhone cases, cushions, throws, kids clothes, soft toys and possibly the piece you need the most, a printed dog’s bowl. The list really does go on.
But we won’t spoil all the fun, you’ll just have to line up on opening day (October 8, mark it in your diary now in a big bold texta) or get your online shopping game face on because this collection is not expected to last a week. Everything in the range is hot limited edition property so blink and you’ll miss the chance of a lifetime. Prices range from $10 to $169. Yep, just when you thought you’d never be able to afford a piece of Missoni, this happened.
