Kimpton Margot Sydney has teamed up with the sensational Broadway hit, Sister Act The Musical, for its inaugural Australian season, running from 7 August to 27 October 2024. And trust us, the whole package goes from superb to sublime.

When you check into Kimpton Margot Sydney, the breathtaking art deco hotel is what happens when The New Yorker (the hotel) takes steroids. The space is vast – high ceilings, columns, an unadulterated sense of elegance and then the rooms – spacious, thoughtfully decorated and appointed with only the finest finishes.

Once you’re settled, it’s time to embrace the spirit of the evening. Don your most fabulous church attire and get ready for a memorable night with musical stars Casey Donovan, Genevieve Lemon, and Rhonda Burchmore. But first, head to the hotel’s chic Wilmot Bar where you can sip on one of two Sister Act-inspired cocktails. Choose from the Fabulous, Baby!—a decadent mix of brandy, Drambuie, cacao liqueur, lime, and tea syrup—or the Take Me To Heaven, a heavenly concoction of vanilla vodka, lychee juice, cranberry juice, lemon, and bubble gum syrup.

For your pre-theatre meal you’ll enjoy three courses in Luke’s Kitchen. To start you have the choice of Blessed Beef Bresaola – Waldorf Salad or the Soft Polenta and Blue Cheese Tart. Both options equally delicious.

For mains you can choose the Confit of Maryland Chicken, Lentils and Sweet Potato. A little hint of curry flavours make this a tastebud hallelujah. The other option is Mother Superior’s Mushroom Ravioli, Artichoke Puree, Ricotta and Hazelnut dressing. The combination of these potentially simple flavours are elevated in combination – like any good choir of flavours.

The dessert is a deep fried ice-cream with chocolate sauce.

For a three course meal it’s $65 per head. For a menu designed by Luke Mangan this is incredible affordable.

Sides include fries ($12) (and/or truffle and parmesan fries $16), Roast Carrots, Persian Feta, Dukkah with Curry Dressing ($16),

After a comprehensive meal, you’ll need the short stroll to the Capitol Theatre, ready for the main event. Enjoy two A-reserve tickets to Sister Act The Musical, the stage adaptation of Whoopi Goldberg’s iconic film, and revel in the high-energy performance that has audiences raving and clapping in the aisles.  After the final curtain, retreat to your luxurious room for a serene night’s sleep, dreaming of the incredible evening you just experienced.

Available every Wednesday to Saturday during the show’s run, this package offers a night of opulence and entertainment, starting at $400 per room, per night. It includes overnight accommodation, a themed set menu for two at Luke’s Kitchen, and two premium tickets to the musical. Bookings are subject to availability and terms and conditions apply.
