FoodSt delivers home cooks to you, Masterchef style.

The new marketplace for home cooks, FoodSt, is where home cooks deliver gourmet, restaurant quality food direct to your door.

The home-made dishes are restaurant quality, but home cooked tasting.

Created by Lorraine Gnanadickam and her husband, Sanjay Gnanadickam in the Northern Beaches – FoodSt delivers home-made meals all across Sydney. To order your meals simply jump onto foodst.com.au and browse a delicious variety of cuisines before purchasing and organising delivery.

Your meals are delivered in freezer-friendly packaging.

You can choose from  Mexican, Brazilian, Malaysian, Thai as well as Australian and European classics. They also have keto, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. In fact, there are over 100 different meals prepared by 25 heavily vetted chefs.

We made the mistake of thinking we’d order and the food would be delivered like takeaway that night.  We got that wrong. Instead, this is more like the food delivery services such as Soulara or Thrive. The difference here is someone has lovingly created the meal and you find out a little about the chef while you’re choosing what to eat.

One of the cooks, Prarawin, preparing one of his incredible meals.

We organised delivery for one-week later, and a box of well packed frozen meals arrived. We ordered Beef Massaman Curry, Malaysian Spiced Coconut Chicken, Chili Basil Chicken, Cashew Nut Chicken and Wheat Free Corn Fritters with Tomato Puree. All in consistent sized packs, ready for the freezer until you pop them in the microwave.

We started with the Beef Massaman Curry, because it’s a household favourite. The beauty of it was really in that it tasted like you’d popped around to a friend’s place who had worked all day in the kitchen to make you a Thai curry classic. You can taste that it wasn’t made at your local thai and you could taste that it was made by someone who was an expert in this cuisine.

The Malaysian Chicken, Chili Basil Chicken and rest of the dishes tasted exactly like high level home cooked food. How do we define that? Packed full of flavour, carefully crafted with a touch of difference about them,

Wheat free corn fritters and smoky tomato sauce

If you’re busy and too frazzled to cook anything beyond a piece of chicken and a sorry piece of broccoli for dinner, but loathe the idea of takeaway every night – this is a great compromise. It’s home cooked goodness from your favourite type of street.
