Flight Club launches darts into the heart of Sydney

Pub culture has needed a shake up for some time. Sitting around talking with mates, beers in hand with some basic pub grub is so yesterday.

Welcome Flight Club. A true sports bar, where you, the patrons are welcome to play the oldest form of pub games – Darts. But not in an old “rest a pint on your stomach” kind of way – but rather one that brings tech, social media, high quality service, cocktails and a wide menu with all your wildest publiest dreams together for an excessively fun time.

Walking into Flight Club the first thing you’ll notice is the whimsical, fairground vibe. Think “The Greatest Showman” without the ableist condescension.

Bright lights, private dart booths, hand painted decoration (you read that right, hand painted), English accoutrements adorn the walls in the shape of weather vanes, brass horse medallions and Victorian paintings all curated by a team in the UK who really care about the visual experience as well as the physical one.

The dart “booths” are comprehensively set up with cameras, using technology created by an ex-NASA employee, to capture speed, accuracy and count of each dart thrown. This digital connection between dartboard and gaming console provides real time information regarding game progress (who is beating who) and also replays of excellent shots. Think bowling alley number crunching with Switch/Wii style imagery.

Multiple game options – none of which are traditional, brings variety and excitement. All while throwing darts the welcoming team from Flight Club will check in on you to ensure things are going smoothly, if you need a much required cocktail, for instance the signature Lemon Meringue Pie ($21) Vanilla Vodka, Lemon Curd, Lemon and Sugar – which tastes exactly like the pie, but gluten free. Extensive wine list and also Guiness on tap for the die-hard dart-ists.

The food is slightly elevated pub fare, with plenty of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options across an array of deliciously deep-fried options, pizza from $28 with gluten free bases and vegan cheese available, along with burgers and Tex-Mex like nacho stacks ($20) and quesadillas  ($21).

It’s a perfect place for a date/date night (believe it or not), because it’s super fun and everyone can make an idiot of themselves, professional team building, mates catch up, family afternoons, (kids allowed until 8pm) for all the same reasons.

Flight Club is global, which means that the whole world is turning back to pub games  so now is your chance to get ahead of a trend, practice and blow the minds of everyone you know with your ability to hit a bullseye!

From $24 per person per hour, with regular deals including Christmas in July $79 per person for 2 hours of darts, bottomless Christmas canapes and desserts, your choice of 3 hot ciders, mulled or house wines, or beers. With over 592 million darts thrown around the world, get amongst it.
