There are certain movie moments that stand the test of time. Take for example the “nobody puts baby in the corner” line from Dirty Dancing or the pottery wheel scene in Ghost. And who can forget that infamous Grease drive-in scene where Danny makes several (unsuccessful) passes at a rather prudish Sandy?
Some 30-odd years on, the folks from Downtown Drive-In Driven by Audi are bringing back a little Danny Zuko charm and they’ve parked their rig at Carriageworks. Think cinema-quality digital projection in a 120-year-old heritage listed building, top-notch sound and an epic trip down memory lane into the forgotten world of drive-in theatre.
It’s not all T-Birds and Summer Lovin’ this time round though. There’ll be luxe A-class Audi’s supplied for those wanting a VIP drive-in experience and deckchairs near the screen for a more humble viewing platform.
Choose from a short and snappy program featuring three films over three days (29 Nov – 1 Dec) and tuck into food and bevies from none other than Sydney’s American-style diner, The Dip.
Try your move, Danny Zuko style.
