Devonshire Street just got a little more exciting with the addition of Devon Café – a knockout food joint serving a mash up of French and Asian with coffee so good it’ll make your knees buckle.
The all-day menu, courtesy of two Guillaume graduates, includes daily specials, sambos and basics like toast with conserves and ‘Just Eggs’. The magic happens further down the menu with ‘Two Chicks in Basque’ featuring two baked eggs in bell pepper stew with goats curd and basil, and ‘Breakfast of Champions’ with Spanish blood sausage, celeriac gratin, apple puree and a 63-degree slow cooked egg.
For the sugar addicts amongst us, tuck into Asian style black rice pudding with coconut cream and banana, or if you’re feeling game, try brioche with banana, Nutella and peanut butter ice-cream – our heart skips a beat just thinking about it.
Coffee is a science here and it’s no surprise their beans are Five Senses and Alchemy. Take time to chat to the coffeeologist (yep, that’s his title!) and learn a thing or two.
Sit at the front window and enjoy a people watching sesh or nab a table in the rear courtyard and smell the fresh herbs from their homegrown patch.
Devon(shire) Street just got better.
