Addict Food & Coffee, Curing What Ails Us

A corner space on the busy Johnston Street, just shy of Smith Street is the perfect location for a café, you agree, yes? Well, owners Greg Brassil and Joe Ventura who opened Addict Food & Coffee last year thought as much. It took them two years to find the space, but we think it was worth the wait.

The open, windowed café is the perfect vantage point to watch the lives of the Fiztroy-folk. And the perfect place to stop for all day breakfast, lunch, and coffee. And with a name like Addict we’re thinking there would be no judgement if you came by more than once a day.10852866_900362956650287_840607977_n

When it comes to the food you can go hard with the likes of the Southern pulled pork burger with slaw and chipotle mayo which is served with parmesan fries and is a win any day of the week. If you’re more of a #vegan #glutenfree kind of person, the coconut and chia superfood stack with mango, strawberry, and puffed buckwheat has your name written all over it. The eggs benedict is served with ham hock and a generous oozing of hollandaise, while the falafels are served with a dainty charred cos salad, a light lunchtime option.

Specials see rosemary and olive bread topped with tomato, avocado, poached eggs, and haloumi crumbs, or brioche French toast with pistachio praline, whipped mascarpone, and fresh berries, while the cabinet might be stocked with a raw caramel slice, if you’re lucky.

The market lane coffee is spot on, meaning you can continue that addiction too. They’ve also got milks available for those who avoid dairy. So they’ve got us all covered.

What are you addicted to? The food or the coffee?
