Being productive can be hard in our technology driven world. MiGoals, the creative and straightforward stationary brand is trying to help, one Get Sh*t Done notebook at a time. We chat to MiGoals Co-Founder Adam Jelic about getting sh*t done, goal setting, love of stationary, and of course where he gets his morning coffee.

What does a day look like for you?

Most days we start with a meeting at the local café where we go through our Get Shit Done WIP for the day ahead. The rest of the day is spent juggling between sales, operations, strategy, and general day-to-day business tasks.

Where is your favourite place for a coffee/tea/juice?

We both like District Brewer in Bentleigh – the food, coffee, and general atmosphere is really cool.

What is your favourite way to de-stress?

I like to get out of the office from time to time to play a round of golf, find it helps clear my mind and just be in the present moment.

And to disconnect from digital?

I always like to read a good book or spend quality time with my wife and two children. When I get home for the day I make an effort to place the phone out of site so I am not tempted to check emails or social media.

Have you always loved stationery?

I have always used a diary and notebook and was never big on technology so I guess the answer is yes – I have always been a stationery lover!

Why are goals so important in your life and what impact have they had so far?

Goals have always been super important in my life – they have given me direction and focus and have allowed me to grow into the person I am today. I am fortunate now to be in a position where I am working day-to-day on a business I am passionate about and believe in. The impact not only on myself but the people who use our products and achieve their goals is really empowering and rewarding.

How do you go about setting goals?

I make sure I set goals that are important to me and represent my values and purpose. From there the process is really simple: I clarify exactly what it is I want to do, why I want to do it, when I want to do it by and then I develop a plan/action list to get it done.

What is your number one tip for ‘getting shit done’?

Get into the zone. We all have times during the day that we seem to be more productive and in the zone. My tip is to become aware of these moments and work to your strengths. I find I work best at night-time so I focus my creative work around those times.
