Who doesn’t love the sound of a ‘POP’. Symbolising festivity, celebration and happiness, there’s nothing better than hearing a bottle of bubbles being cracked open, and seeing those gorgeous sparkling jewels shine in your glass.
Prosecco, the Italian version of our wonderful sparkling wine is holding a festival dedicated to this dream of a drink.
Celebrating its eighth year of this fabulous festival, on 22 February, over 50 Prosecco houses, both local and international will be on offer. Iconic brands such as the much-loved Brown Brothers, Tar & Roses and Pizzini will be pouring, as well as some new Italian faces in the Prosecco game. To soak up the bubbles is a plethora of delicious artisan food stalls such as Milliwa cheese, yummy cannoli art and the Pav Queen. And featuring is the Italian special guest of Zero 96 Pizza and some cool refreshing Meno Zero Gelato.
And this year, to add to the fun and frivolity, they are having a 90s theme. Embracing the nostalgic music from the 1990’s (think Pump the Jam, Backstreet Boys and Destiny’s child), DJs will be rocking out some awesome tunes so you can sip, swirl and wiggle at this festive affair. (There’s even an after party, if you get in quickly) . You also get to keep your cup (a take home plush fancy plum sparkling wine glass), along with a cute tote bag.
So, if you revel in the opportunity to pop a sparkling in the sunshine, enjoy divine food, and love getting your grove on, this is an event not to be missed.
