Kiosk

Does tomato sauce, wooden benches, caravan parks, Big M’s and school sports feature when you think of a Kiosk?

A Kiosk, much like a canteen brings a sense of nostalgia for a younger version of ourselves, navigating our childhood like Fred Savage in The Wonder Years.

It’s certainly not a place where we would expect to find unique, quirky and didn’t-know-i-needed-it objects d’art. Kiosk is a New York design store, which now has a permanent residency in the Third Drawer Down Museum of Art Souvenirs retail space.

Some samples of the pieces you will chuckle over, purchase and then become conversation pieces are; the Sesame Seed Grinder, Hot Air Balloon, Ditch the Itch Balm, Butterfly can opener and Career Figures (as show in the picture).

With prices ranging from $6 – $65, there is a gift for everyone (even that weird uncle who no-one ever knows what to buy).

It’s a must visit in the lead up to Kris Kringle, Christmas and of course the age old retail therapy reason – why not?
