Urban living means living in smaller spaces which means you often need a degree in space management to maintain a clean, minimal and chic look to your home – and successfully store all the “ugly” bits away.
Bernadette Ferrari is Senior Designer and Owner of Ferrari Interiors (and previous womenswear buyer at David Jones). Ferrari Interiors is a total service business offering co-ordination, delivery and set-up for all sorts of spaces including a complete home or just a single room. They can source everything for you to suit your lifestyle and taste like white goods, furnishings, blinds, linens and homewares.
We asked Bernadette for her top 3 tips to maximise space (you can thank us later).
1. Multifunctional furniture: Good storage (like coffee tables and ottomans that double as storage space) will not only make it easier to find your things, but it will create more room for you and give your home a cleaner look.
2. Mirror Magic: When selecting a mirror for your room, think big! Also, careful placement of large mirrors can not only increase the brightness of a room, but can also make the room look much larger.
3. Flooring: By placing the same quality flooring throughout your apartment and taking it outside onto a balcony or courtyard will help make a space flow.
