Hacienda turns one, and we’re all invited to party

Hacienda 1st BirthdayOne year on and Hacienda’s leafy, gilded bar seems to have grown more good looking. Maybe that’s the cocktails talking, because to celebrate turning the tender age of one, Hacienda has launched a whole new cocktail menu – and a range of new food dishes to boot.

Perched on the outer edge of the Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour, Hacienda burst onto the scene last year it immediately won us over with its pretty pastel colour scheme, ceiling plants and of course, the view. Akin to stepping into a glasshouse, Hacienda looks straight out to the Quay, with the Bridge in all its glory right at the end of the bar. It has quickly become our favourite spot for harbourside drinks – the coconut espresso martinis may have had something to do with that.

The new cocktail menu sees Hacienda’s mixologists really flex their muscles – seasonally based produce is being used to create signature drinks, so swap the stock standard classics for some of these babies.

We say skip ahead to the Tiki section of the menu – the Caribbean Crucero definitely have a bit of punch, with Appleton Estate Signature rum, Mt Gay Eclipse rum, Pineapple juice, Passionfruit puree, lime juice, Falernum and Tiki Bitters. The Beautiful Beets herbal cocktail, with white rum, Beetroot shrub, passionfruit puree, Yuzu juice, egg white and lemonade, is as intriguing as it sounds, and a sweet Mr. Monchito takes us straight to tropical paradise, with Bacardi Carta Blanca, coconut mix, pineapple juice, lime juice and mango sorbet.

Pair a few of these fun tipples with Executive Chef Stefan Brademann’s new menu – larger lunchtime dishes like quesadillas, poke bowls and burgers are a nice addition, and make this a top notch spot for a long Sydney lunch, but we just can’t go past mojito chicken sliders and hot dog tortillas on the evening menu too. That just means you’ll need to arrive early, and settle in for the evening!
