Collaborations are exciting things. Sometimes they mean getting your hands on high end designer stuff at more affordable prices. Sometimes it means a designer you love has branched out into a new area so you can get buy more of their beautiful things, not just in your wardrobe. Sometimes it’s a matter of a match made in heaven where two cool brands come together because it just makes sense.
These three collabs tick these boxes. Put them on your wishlist and note down their launch date – good things like these collabs don’t last forever.
Balmain X H&M
Balmain fashion at H&M prices… well close to it (some pieces are rumoured to be in the hundreds! But don’t worry, not all of them). We can’t contain our excitement. Only one month to go. When the campaign faces are Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Jourdan Dunn you know from the get-go that this collection is the next hot thing. There’s so much to love about the coveted Balmain designer aesthetic that is being brought directly into this collab: fun, cool, loads of attitude, unique craftsmanship, and easy to spot a mile away. Expect beaded blazers and mini dresses, geometric prints, jewel tones mixed with monochrome pieces, and some cool classics too like the sleeveless tuxedo jacket. We’re not afraid to push and shove to get our hands on one. The accessories are standouts too – literally. They’re huge, chunky and oh so blingy. But grunge bling, not Housewives of (insert city here) bling. Guys, you won’t miss out either. There’s some super slick pieces in the collection for you too, sans the beaded bling. It all goes down on November 8. Do. Not. Miss. Out.
Balmain X H&M available from Sunday November 8 at H&M stores nationally.
Apple X Hermes Watch
So the apple Watch was kinda a big deal when it launched. Typical Apple genius in a piece of technology we never knew we needed but now can’t live without. But there was one thing lacking… style. There’s only so much hardware we can rock at one time, and the Apple Watch is bordering on the edge. That’s why we are super thrilled for this collab. The Hermes artisans in France have updated the watch face with their signature stamp and handmade the leather straps, which come in three different styles. The Single Tour is a classic Hermes design and comes in a brown, black or red leather single strap – sorry, make that fauve, noir or capucine. The Double Tour features a long strap that wraps around the wrist twice; get it in fauve, étain, capucine, and bleu jean. The last one is a cuff with equestrian fittings and a clever design that means your Apple Watch’s heart sensor can still stay in contact with your wrist. This one only comes in fauve.
Are you ready for the best news? It’s all yours to own on Monday (October 6). Thank goodness it’s a public holiday in Sydney and you have nothing but time to camp outside your Apple store (well, the one in the city and Bondi Junction only) to get your mitts on one. Sorry Melbourne, you’ll have to make the trip to Sydney to get your hands on one for now.
Apple Watch Hermès starts at $1,700, available from Monday October 5 at Apple Store Sydney and Apple Store Bondi only.
Samantha Wills X Move
We’ve been long time fans of Samantha Wills’ jewellery. Her style has always been ahead of its time so it’s no surprise she’s chosen to collaborate with tech-savvy brand MOVE. Branching out into the digital accessories arena, the Samantha Wills X Move collaboration is not only beautiful, but at a price point we can all afford. The collection features four on-trend materials: marble, wood, metal and leather. The designs are very Samantha Wills, especially the bohemian wood carved ones that have been inspired by her signature carved wooden jewellery boxes. Her range is available for notebook satchels, phone cases and tablet covers. Get one, get many, just make sure you get a piece of this beautiful collab.
Prices from $49.98 to $99.98, available now at MOVE stores nationally or online at www.movestore.com.au and www.samanthawills.com.
