Joie de vivre. The joy of life. A beautiful concept, one we should remember more often than we do. So Frenchy So Chic is a day dedicated to enjoying life, and of course all things French. French music, French food, and it goes without saying French Champagne.
The summer music festival is returning again on January 11 in Melbourne and January 17 in Sydney to bring you a day of sunshine and dancing until sunset.
The line up includes some of France’s finest, including the Parisienne darling Emilie Simon, the French Finish duo The Dø, La Femme who are bringing a seriously catchy Californian surf rock sound to the festival, and François and the Atlas Mountains who recently opened for Franz at Somerset House in London.
When it comes to the food, they’re not mucking around. Melbourne’s range of hampers have been designed by Bright Young Things and include the cheese plate – Yea Vintage cheddar, Bleu de Bresse, Caprice un amour des Dieux, spiced pear and raisin relish, Flame grapes, summer strawberries, and crusty French baguettes and lavosh. Need we say more? Sydney’s hampers have been created by caterers Simmone Logue including the picnic hamper for one – smoked Snowy River trout rillettes with lavosh, crusty baguette with poached chicken, basil pistou mayonnaise, roasted tomato, and watercress, a couscous salad with roasted pumpkin, fresh herbs, pomegranate, and tahini yoghurt dressing, and to finish a caramelised apple and frangipane tart. Would it be wrong to go for the food alone?
Friends and lovers are the perfect partner for this event. And it’s also a family affair, with little ones under 12 getting in for free.
