If you have ever wondered where your favourite vintage furniture originated, thanks to Tale, wonder no more and uncover the unique and fascinating story that is the tale behind each piece.
The brainchild of Steve Hibberd and Liz Palmieri, and partnering with Creative Director Celia Philo (designer of David Bowie’s iconic album cover Aladdin Sane and mother of designer Phoebe Philo from Chloe), Tale is unlike any antique furniture and home wares store you’ve seen before.
Liz says, “It is knowing and explaining to others the story behind each piece that makes us feel as though we have something unique,” and the concept store Tale was born.
For four weeks only, Tale have launched their first pop-up shop and from the moment you step inside you are taken on a journey around the world from a French village in the 19th century, to the English countryside in the 1920s.
Each piece comes with a story; from the first owner’s, to its original colour and the room it was originally used in and how it came into Celia’s possession. A stand out piece (that you can buy and make your own) is a rare and unique table designed by Willy Rizzo, famous for creating furniture for the likes of Brigitte Bardot.
Pick up a treasured piece of furniture here and you’ll become the next chapter of the tale.
