“Go ahead and be wildly improbable and unrealistic with the life you want to create”. – Aimee Mullins
Look up the bio of Aimee Mullins and you’ll discover some truly remarkable achievements by the American: the youngest person to hold a top-secret security clearance at the Pentagon (aged 17), Olympic athlete, TED speaker, Alexander McQueen model, People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People in the World”. Add Global Brand Ambassador to the world’s largest beauty brand L’Oreal Paris and that quickly completes your lady crush.
During an interview with Aimee in the lush Crown Towers suites she shared some views on her quest to help other women find their own unique and personal expression of beauty.
She rejects the notion of being a role model, rather supporting the premise that you should do what’s right for you and that’s it’s okay to make mistakes along the way.
Feisty, charming, confident in character yet so graceful in her conviction to see things through, what resonates immediately (other than her natural beauty) is her ability to see things authentically and with such a sincere perspective.
Not showing any signs of stopping (or being stoppable for that matter), it’s fascinating meeting someone who will be challenging the perception of what is beauty – which she defines as a mix of confidence and fashion – for some time yet.
Little known about Aimee, she thinks she could be a perfumer! Add an acute sense of smell to the list of her many talents.
