Zara comes to town

She’s every woman’s favourite foreign mistress. You know, the one you ensure a visit to when abroad. Cheap but chic, she lures you back with promises of something new, desired or covetable – “Oh, this trench-coat? It’s from Zara,” you say casually to admirers.

Finally, this much-loved mistress is moving to Melbourne. The date to bold in your diary is 15 June 2011.

Spanish high-street store and style-savvy favourite Zara is setting up shop in the iconic Bourke St Mall, shoulder-to-shoulder with department giant David Jones.

1,700 square metres of affordable style is spread over three levels, with Woman, Basic and TRF (think Zara’s little sister) collections spanning the ground floor.

Enticing any unenthused male partner is an extensive and slick mens’ range on the upper floor, whilst the children’s collection occupies the first floor.

Zara’s Bourke St flagship will offer more than 25 fitting rooms, so you can try on all six of those must-have blazers without waiting in line for the time it took to sew them.

With hot pink pants, camel trenches and ponti skater dresses walking off the racks at Sydney Westfield’s recent store opening, get your boots to Bourke St bright and early to get first look at Zara’s new digs.
