If you’ve strolled down Chapel Street recently and wondered why there were so many trendy people sleeping on the side of the road, don’t be alarmed. High Street fashion giant Topshop (and its trendy other half Topman) is preparing to open its doors to the public tomorrow (Thursday 8 December), and it’s set to make Zara’s first few days look like civilised gatherings.
The British giant has been lauded for its ability to bring runway looks to the masses. As soon as the last model has sauntered off the catwalk there’s a more affordable version of her dress in Topshop’s window, and collaborations with everyone from Kate Moss to Christopher Kane have invested the chain with some serious fashion cred.
Topshop’s Melbourne digs will be the third store only worldwide to offer a personal shopping service. If you’re brave enough to battle crowds over opening weekend you’ll be rewarded with a complimentary makeover and live music, plus the chance to win a $100 gift card.
The rest of the world might be awaiting the 25th, but for fashion fiends Christmas comes a little earlier this year.
